Things to Do in Sedona, Arizona – Out of Africa Wildlife Park

One of the most popular attractions to both visitors and locals in the Sedona and Verde Valley area is Out of Africa Wildlife Park, located only 30 minutes from Sedona, Arizona. What makes this wildlife park so unique and worthwhile is the dedication, care and respect given to the wildlife at the park by both the Owners and Staff and the way they have been able to entertain and educate visitors to the park with some of the coolest attractions and wildlife interactions while keeping the health and dignity of the animals a priority. You can spend the whole day at the park with your family for a reasonable price and leave wanting to come back the next day.

Any time I have family coming to Sedona, one of the first places I take them is Out of Africa Wildlife Park. My family and I enjoy all the attractions at the park but my all time favorite attraction would have to be Tiger Splash. When I first went to Tiger Splash, I was not expecting much. I have been to other attractions involving wildlife at other parks, so my sights were not set too high. Boy was I wrong! I sat there opened mouthed the whole show! When those tigers started jumping into the pool to catch their “prey” I was blown away. The caretakers are right in there with the large predatory cats romping and playing. The whole show is just amazing to watch. I was so enthralled with the magnificent cats that I went back the following day to see them again.

After the show my family and I decided to walk along the wildlife preserve. We could have taken a narrated tram or trolley tour but we were in the mood for a stroll. The kids in our entourage were so excited about how close they could get to some of the animals. I myself was taken aback by how close they appeared. There were even a couple of places were the caretakers were in with the animals and we were able to ask questions and they offered some interesting facts and stories about the park and the inhabitants. I could go on and on about this park, but you really need to go see it for yourself. You and your family will not be disappointed with your time spent here and will come back for more.
